Desmotec
An Italian company making flywheel equipment since 2012.
About Desmotec
Desmotec designs and makes isoinertial equipment, where the resistance comes from a spinning flywheel instead of weights. For gyms, sports teams and physiotherapy practices.
Desmotec makes three kinds of device: V.LINE cable machines, D.LINE training platforms and E.LINE assessment boards. Machines with electronics show force, power and speed for every repetition, on D.SOFT with a 10–11″ tablet or, for V.MINI, on the Desmotec Connect phone app.

Where flywheel training comes from.
Flywheel resistance was designed to work without gravity. Decades of research later, it is a widely studied training method in sports science.
-
1994
Berg and Tesch describe a gravity-independent flywheel ergometer for resistance exercise in space. The load comes from inertia, not weight.
-
2000s
Sports science and rehabilitation research adopt flywheel training, and professional teams bring it to the training ground.
-
2012
Desmotec is founded in Biella, Italy, to design and build flywheel devices for training, sport and physiotherapy.
-
Today
Devices with real-time feedback, from the gym floor to the treatment room.
