An athlete training with a V.MINI attached to a goalpost on a football pitch

Flywheel training for sports teams.

Strength and power work that goes where the team trains, from the weights room to the pitch. On devices with electronics, coaches see force and power for every repetition.

What Desmotec brings to a team.

An athlete with an ankle cuff connected to a rack-mounted V.MINI

Eccentric work you can dose

Athletes control the eccentric load with how hard they pull and how quickly they brake. Heavier discs favour force, lighter discs favour speed.

Train where the team trains

V.MINI fixes to a goalpost, a tree or a rack and comes off again, so strength work can happen at the pitch as well as in the weights room.

Many athletes, one session

Sets are short and there are no plates to change, so athletes can rotate through one device quickly.

  • Measured repetitions

With electronics, force, power and speed are shown for each repetition, so coaches can track each athlete across sessions.

What to expect when you start.

  1. 01

    Familiarisation first

Athletes need two or three sessions to learn to time the brake before the eccentric phase loads them fully.

  2. 02

    Plan around soreness

Eccentric work can cause soreness in the first sessions. Introduce it away from matches and increase volume gradually.

  3. 03

    Support for your staff

The Desmotec Academy offers training in device setup, exercise selection and coaching.
